Overview

Your experience will start at Turning Heads Kennel – a real mushing kennel, owned and operated by two Iditarod mushers. During the sled ride you will be able to see how absolutely beautiful Alaska is in the winter. Enjoy a true Alaskan experience of going mushing on a sled pulled by a team of Alaskan Huskies. Your musher will tell you about the sport of mushing, the races that happen around the state during the winter and all the training done during the summer.

What To Expect

If you are brave enough to visit Alaska in the winter than you have to go dogs sledding! Our 3-hour winter dog sled tour is a great introduction to mushing. Drive or sit in the sled with one of our guides, learn all about how we train and prepare our dogs for races like the 1,000 mile Iditarod, hear exciting tales from the trail, and experience Alaska’s state sport for yourself! Pick-ups are available to and from Anchorage for an additional $125 per person.
