Ride a dog sled through Alaska's wilderness trails on a tour from Seward. In addition to your sled ride, you get to tour the kennel, cuddle husky puppies, and learn about canine athletic training. The sleds feature comfortable, padded seats and wheeled summer sleds that allow you to experience a dog sled ride regardless of the weather.
Your tour starts with pickup from a central meeting point in Seaward and a transfer by van to the dog sled headquarters. Your guide shares a brief overview of dog mushing, then takes you out to meet the furry stars of the team. Your guides introduce you to some of the more than 90 dogs and answer questions about the canine athletes.
Watch as your guide gets the dog team harnessed up, then step into your sled for your ride into the wilderness. The all-weather sled is equipped with comfortable padded seats and tires for warmer conditions. Have time for photo ops of Alaska's natural beauty and the dogs at work as you ride through the woods.
After your sled ride, return to the kennel area to see the adorable puppies. Have time to play with the husky pups and pose for photos. Then learn about the supplies needed for the Iditarod, and watch a demonstration about harnesses, training, and race strategy for the dogs.
Your tour ends with return transfer to the original departure point.
