This hiking trip and scenic drive along the rugged eastern coastline of Maui is a great chance for nature lovers to explore a different side of this island beyond the beaches and luaus.
Start your day at the Maui Park n’ Ride, continuing on a drive along the famous Hana Highway, a rugged road on Maui’s east coast that winds past a range of incredible scenery and more than 50 bridges. Soon you’ll reach the trailhead for your hike to the waterfalls, journeying into a dense natural environment referred by locals and visitors alike as “old Hawaii.”
During the course of your hike, you’ll proceed past a collection of cascading streams and pouring waterfalls, also known as the “Seven Sacred Pools,” thanks to its sublime beauty. Proceed along paths cutting through dense groves of bamboo, continuing towards a number of other waterfalls buried deep in the forest, some towering as high as 400 feet (122m).
At the half-way point of your day, take a break for lunch featuring a deli-style sandwich. Return to your original departure point at the conclusion of your tour.
