The wildlife at the State park is unpredictable with groupers, snappers and angel fish guaranteed and everything from dolphins, eagle rays, to manatees possible but less common. If you have good eyes or a passion for macro photography, octopus, scorpion fish, frogfish, and sea horses are present, if you can find them, in addition to the many species of blenny, crabs, mollusks, and fish. Visibility is generally 15-30'. Mild currents are normal as well.
We will be conducting a shore dive on the jetty wall at St Andrews State Park. Certified divers will be led by a trained Divemaster on a tour to a maximum depth of 60'. The Divemaster will conduct a briefing on the dive site, review hand signals for the divers and the conduct a dive. The length and depth of the dive will ultimately be determined by a combination of the diver's comfort and skill levels and the conditions at the time of the dive. Current a visibility can vary widely here but we only schedule these dives when the tides SHOULD bring the best clarity water over the dive site with minimal current.
Depths can be between 20-75' and visibility is usually 15-30' depending on recent weather and offshore conditions. This is a great dive to make if its been awhile since your last dive and you want to move slowly rather than taking a boat dive to the shipwrecks which can be alittle more extreme.
