Immerse yourself in San Francisco’s rich literary history’and follow in the footsteps of the city’s most famous writers and luminaries’on this walking tour. In the afternoon, meet your author and journalist guide right outside the legendary City Lights Bookstore, and get ready to explore. In between visiting the Beat Museum, art exhibitions, and writer-beloved dive bars, you’ll learn about the city’s literary past.
We’ll meet outside the historic bookstore and discuss the book trial that changed the course of American history. I’ll also give some insights into my friend, store owner, and poet, the recently deceased, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and how he took on the powers that be while publishing the counterculture Beat poets and writers.
