Grant Avenue is one of the oldest streets in San Francisco. In addition, it’s also the main street in Chinatown where one will find the biggest bazaars, tea shops and specialty stores. The famous Fortune Cookie factory is on Ross Alley a half block from Grant Street. Portsmouth Square was the original city center which expanded and was relocated to Union Square. The bridge took 4 years to build since it’s on the wind path and fog path. Dense fog limits visibility. The international orange color of the bridge blends in with the underlying Franciscan complex rock formation. The GGB is the most photographed structure in the world for a reason. The best views are in the afternoon from Marin Headlands. One can walk or bike on the bridge.
