Overview

This is an adventure motorcycle tour through central and southern Utah. We ride through and experience just about everything that Utah has to offer in just a few short days. Some of the notable areas this tour goes through are the Wasatch Mountains, The San Rafael Swell, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and Fish Lake National Forest. We ride a great variety of fun paved roads, dirt roads, rocky and sandy two track trails, with occasional creek and river crossings. This is an all inclusive tour with the following items provided. Adventure motorcycle, motorcycle luggage, head to toe riding gear, Cardo communication devices, food, sleeping accommodations, tour guide, and professional photos/video's of the experience. Come experience some of the best of Utah the way only an adventure motorcycle can show you!

Day 1 – Nebo Loop – San Rafael Swell – Goblin Valley



Nebo Loop National Scenic Byway

The first scenic area that we ride through on this tour is the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway. It is a beautiful loop that circles around the tallest mountain in the Wasatch mountain range, Mount Nebo. This entire loop is a fun winding paved road.

Energy Loop Byway

The Energy Loop is a scenic route located near Scofield, Utah, USA. The loop is a 20-mile drive that takes us through stunning landscapes, including rolling hills, alpine forests, and meadows. The route also features several interpretive sites that showcase the history of energy production in the area, including coal mining and renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and solar panels, hence the name Energy Loop. This is a great section of the tour because it shows off the beautiful Rocky Mountains just before we dip down into the unique rock formations of the San Rafael Swell.

Spirit Railroad

The spirit railroad is a railroad grade that began construction back in the late 1800’s, but never got completed. It makes for a really fun section of the ride and there are still ruins from railroad worker camps that we see along the way.

San Rafael Swell

The San Rafael Swell is a stunning geological formation located in central Utah, USA. The Swell is a vast, rugged area that features towering sandstone cliffs, narrow canyons, and other unique geological formations. This is a spectacular area to ride through and gives us our first taste of the amazing rock formations that we see along this tour.

Green River

Green River is a small town located in eastern Utah, USA. It is situated along the Green River and is surrounded by stunning natural scenery, including towering mesas, buttes, and canyons. We stop here to fuel up and grab some lunch.

Goblin Valley State Park

Goblin Valley is a state park located in southeastern Utah, USA. The park is known for its unique rock formations, which resemble goblins or other strange creatures. The formations were created over millions of years of erosion and weathering, resulting in a surreal landscape of sandstone hoodoos, spires, and mushroom-shaped rocks. Goblin Valley is a popular destination for families and anyone interested in experiencing the natural wonders of Utah’s desert landscape. It is also a popular spot for stargazing due to its remote location and lack of light pollution. We spend some time walking around Goblin Valley and we spend our first night near Goblin Valley

Day 2 – Burr Trail – Capitol Reef – Boulder Town



Dirty Devil

When the water level is low enough we are able to cross the Dirty Devil at one point of the day. This section of the tour has mixed terrain of dirt road, rocky sand mix, and rocky two track. The Dirty Devil River is a remote and rugged waterway that flows through the heart of southern Utah’s canyon country. It is a tributary of the Colorado River and is known for its stunning red rock formations, and deep gorges. The ride before and after the river crossing is a great dirt section just before connecting to the Flint Trail

Flint Trail

The Flint Trail is a scenic backcountry road located in southern Utah’s canyon country. The trail winds through the remote and rugged terrain of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and provides stunning views of the surrounding red rock formations, canyons, and mesas. The Flint Trail NP633 is popular among off-road enthusiasts seeking a rugged and adventurous experience. We ride this trail for about 35 miles and it has a bit of rocky sand mix, rocky two track, and dirt road.

Burr Trail

The Burr Trail is a scenic backcountry road that winds through the heart of southern Utah’s red rock country. The road begins in Bullfrog and ends in the town of Boulder, Utah offering stunning views of the surrounding canyons, mesas, and rock formations. The Burr Trail is named after the early settler John Atlantic Burr, who blazed a trail through the area in the late 1800s. Today, the road is popular among tourists and outdoor enthusiasts who come to hike, camp, and explore the rugged landscapes of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Capitol Reef National Park. Highlights along the Burr Trail include the scenic overlook at Long Canyon, the narrow slot canyon known as The Gulch, and the Burr Trail Switchbacks, a series of hairpin turns that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding terrain.The Burr Trail is a mix of gravel, pavement, and dirt road.

Day 3 – Homestead Overlook – Fruita, Utah – Hell’s Backbone Road – Hole in the Rock



Homestead Overlook

The Homestead Overlook is a scenic viewpoint located near the town of Boulder in southern Utah. The overlook offers a stunning panorama of the surrounding landscape, including the Boulder Mountain range and the nearby Escalante River. It offers a great view of all the terrain we ride through the previous day.

Fruita

Hole In The Rock Road

Hole in the Rock is a historic site located in southern Utah, near the town of Escalante. The site marks the spot where a group of Mormon pioneers, led by Brigham Young’s son, traversed a narrow and treacherous crevice in the rock to reach the San Juan River in 1879. The group, which included men, women, and children, spent months blasting and chiseling a trail down the steep rock face, ultimately creating a 2,000-foot-long passageway that allowed them to descend to the river below. Today, visitors to Hole in the Rock can hike down the trail to see the historic site and learn about the incredible feat of engineering and perseverance that it represents.
