Yellowstone National Park is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the gray wolf. With a private guide, head out to Yellowstone’s northern range and spend a day observing the local wildlife. Take in the sights of Mammoth Hot Springs and Lamar Valley, known hotspots for wolves, and keep your eyes peeled for other animals like coyotes, bison, bighorn sheep, and moose.
Your guide will meet you with hot drinks and baked goods. You’ll travel through Mammoth toward Lamar Valley, stopping at various points along the way to watch wildlife. Their location constantly changes, so we will target their habitats and areas of recent sightings. We often see wolves and grizzly bears between Mammoth and Lamar Valley.

Our wildlife watching excursions are dynamic and vary by the day and the season, depending on what the wildlife are up to, and what the road conditions are. In spring, summer and fall, we often access wildlife habitats between Tower Junction and Tower Falls. This area is particularly rich in May, June and July. We often see black bears, bighorn sheep, osprey and peregrine falcons in this scenic, geologically complex area. In winter, we cross country ski here.
