Mammoth Hot Springs



Your guide will meet you with hot drinks and baked goods. You’ll travel through Mammoth toward Lamar Valley, stopping at various points along the way to watch wildlife. Their location constantly changes, so we will target their habitats and areas of recent sightings. We often see wolves and grizzly bears between Mammoth and Lamar Valley.

As we travel to and from Lamar Valley, we will check several locations for potential sightings of bison, elk, coyote, bighorn sheep, moose, fox, grizzly and black bears. If there is time and interest we may take a short walk or hike to explore this area away from the road.

Lamar Valley



As we travel across Yellowstone’s Northern Range, arriving in Lamar Valley is always spectacular. This valley is home to a proliferation of wildlife in the summer. In winter, we’ll often see coyotes stalking prey, bison grazing, and stunning views.

Tower Fall



Our wildlife watching excursions are dynamic and vary by the day and the season, depending on what the wildlife are up to, and what the road conditions are. In spring, summer and fall, we often access wildlife habitats between Tower Junction and Tower Falls. This area is particularly rich in May, June and July. We often see black bears, bighorn sheep, osprey and peregrine falcons in this scenic, geologically complex area. In winter, we cross country ski here.
