The most iconic “square” in history. This public park was originally called Place d’ Arms, or place of arms. Many an execution took place in this area leaving behind the trauma that we call a haunting.

This famous alley was used by pirates such as Jean Lafitte as a black market to sell goods stolen from Spanish ships in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Many a deal gone wrong was settled by a duel in its neighboring garden. The sounds of the market place and the dueling gardens are said to be heard in the wee hours of the morning.
