I guide on the Columbia River, in the Columbia River Gorge which boasts spectacular scenery: quintessential Pacific Northwest. Upon launching you’re greeted with an almost unobstructed view of Mount Hood, a dormant volcano that towers over the Cascade Mountain range. You’ll be fishing for the largest freshwater fish in North America: The White Sturgeon. These giants can potentially reach lengths of 12′ and weigh as much as 1000 pounds; a fish that’s been swimming around since the Triassic period, which is long before dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The fight you can expect from a Sturgeon will test every bit of your strength and stamina, leaving you humbled.
Brokenback Sturgeon Fishing is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We offer the opportunity to catch some of the biggest White Sturgeon in the Columbia River. Your day starts by boarding the 22’ Northwest fishing boat and launching into the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. The day will consist of fishing multiple spots with high-quality Phenix rods and Shimano reels for the best chance to catch an oversized sturgeon. Our fishing trips last 8 hours. We are currently one of the few guides that only target white sturgeon.
