What To Expect

Nogales

We will first gain an understanding of Nogales’ geography by going through the historic Crawford Ave district to an ideal vantage point of both or “Ambos” Nogales.

Here we talk about the unique ecological zone we find ourselves in and also talk about the timeline of the wall that we can see following the irregular landscape.

As we descend the hill we will immerse ourselves in the history of the Mexican Revolution in Nogales and the three important battles which were fought here.
Following this, we head for the main port of entry, the Dennis DeConcini, downtown. Here, we will talk about a little-known Great Depression era work and the realities of crossing for people whose lives span both sides of the border. Heading over to the Morley Avenue streetscape, we will see the evolution of this commercial avenue through historic images and an overview of some of Nogales, Arizona’s current challenges, visit a new art studio and gallery and finally we will take in the new murals.
