Rent a bike and cruise along shady paths, picturesque lakes, and quiet lanes in New York's Central Park. Take in the highlights of the sprawling park on two wheels, and enjoy the full flexibility to ride where you want for as long as you want. Get tips on the best places to visit inside the park, or follow city streets to nearby museums and Times Square.
Head to a bike shop located near Central Park, and start your rental by getting fitted out with a bike and safety equipment. Your rental includes a Trek or Giant hybrid bike that’s comfortable for beginning riders, as well as a helmet, bike lock, and a bicycle map of New York. Pedal into the park to find a lush landscape dotted with historic buildings, monuments, and beloved film and movie locations.
Ride past Strawberry Fields and pretty Cherry Hill, then pause to enjoy the cool air by the Bethesda Fountain. Learn the ‘great game’ history behind Cleopatra’s Needle and see The Dakota, the former home of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Central Park has quiet roads and bicycle-specific paths that range from 1.7 miles to 6.1 miles (2.7 to 9.8 km).
Opt for a single bike, or ride a tandem if available—road bikes, child bike trailers, and child seats may also be available at additional cost. These bikes are appropriate for all ages and skill levels, and one adult 18 and over must be present.
