Take a half-day zipline tour that provides a close view of the hemlock forest of West Virginia’s New River Gorge. Your guide prepares you with the needed equipment and instruction, then takes you to a course with seven ziplines, along with platforms and bridges. Glide over the forest and across Mill Creek on an active tour that is suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness.
Your zip-line experience begins when you meet your guides and get geared up in your provided full-body harness, helmet and gloves. Once ready, you will walk to the practice zip where you will learn the skills needed for a successful day. These skills include zip positioning, braking, stopping and line attainment. With guidance, each person will be required to demonstrate these skills in a low risk environment.
The zip line canopy tour begins with a 190-foot zip, followed by 4 more zip lines between 230 and 590 feet long each. Cross high above Mill Creek on your first 205 foot sky bridge to another zip-line platform. Zip to a triple set of sky bridges, and after crossing the bridges, you’ll come back to ground and hike to the road. A short shuttle will bring you to the longest and final zip of 640 feet. Conclude your adventurous experience by rappelling down from the platform back to the ground. Another short shuttle ride with a complimentary beverage returns you to the resort.
