Portland’s historic Mississippi District is home to killer live music venues, eclectic shops, and some of the best restaurants, bars, and food carts in any city – especially if you know what to look for. On our walking food tour of Mississippi Avenue, that’s exactly what I’ll show you! Some of the delicious food and drinks we'll sample: – Perfectly cooked egg sandwiches on freshly baked sourdough. – Mouth-watering brioche donuts with seasonal ingredients. – Deliciously authentic cubanos and sweet plantains. – Inventive craft cocktails from a neighborhood gem. – Melt-in-your-mouth brisket & smoked turkey from the West Coast’s #1 BBQ spot. – Oktoberfest-worthy beers at Portland’s premier German bier bar. Come hungry, thirsty, and curious! The food is the star of this tour, but you’ll also learn about historic Mississippi Ave and the city of Portland. This neighborhood is weird and wonderful, and I’ll share some of the most interesting tidbits along the way.
We’ll meet up and start the Mississippi Avenue Food Tour at Fried Egg I’m In Love. Here, we’ll enjoy perfectly cooked egg sandwiches on freshly baked sourdough, accompanied by the coffee or cocktail (or coffee cocktail!) of your choice.
