New York City has more than one Little Italy and Italian-American cuisine is more than pizza, spaghetti and meatballs. Bring your appetite and go off-the-beaten-path to the ethnically diverse and historically Italian-American neighborhood of Bensonhurst – Brooklyn's Pasta Paradise! On this small group walking tour, we will visit some of Bensonhurst's favorite old school places to eat and shop. Your guide, a native Brooklynite, will share the neighborhood's history and his own unique perspectives as only a local can. You'll learn why Brooklyn continues to draw people from all over the world while we walk and taste.
We will visit local businesses that make or prepare Italian-American specialties including baked goods, cheeses, heroes and ravioli. We will be in the neighborhood of Bensonhurst between 75th and 84th Streets and 14th and 18th Avenues.
