Wickersham State Historic Site



On the top is the Wickersham House State Historic Site, the home was built in 1898, and it was the home to Judge James Wickersham. Judge James Wickersham helped bring law and order to the gold rush towns of Eagle, Fairbanks, and Nome.

This is the Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. Interesting little fact, while the land of Alaska was a Russian colony from 1784 to 1867, Russians did not settle in this area. We will stop outside, check out the amazing building and learn it’s story.
