Come along on a scenic drive and freshwater fishing excursion in beautiful Hoonah. With abundant wildlife in this area, keep your cameras ready for potential wildlife sightings. Brown bears, bald eagles, Sitka blacktail deer, ducks, geese, and more are often sighted throughout Southeast Alaska's rainforest.
Each angler is equipped with their own rod & reel, and wading gear then professionally guided to have an Alaskan wilderness experience of a lifetime. After a beautiful scenic drive and a short hike, you will arrive at the destined salmon spawning grounds.
As with everything in the wilds of Alaska, the fish runs are wild and seasonal. Dolly Varden Char and Cutthroat Trout can be found throughout the summer season. Pink and Chum Salmon run from late June through September, and Silver Salmon from late August through October.
The island is home to the densest population of brown bears in all the world. Although there is never any guarantee that visitors will encounter bears, up close encounters with brown bears are common. Not to worry though, your guide has many years of experience living in close proximity with the island's wildlife, and our guest's safety is a #1 priority.
