Immerse yourself in a private boat cruise to hear the history of how Miami became the cocaine capital of the United States in the early 1980's. Designed to delight fans around this specific period in time, this tour starts in Coconut Grove and covers some of the most iconic spots that had a significant role in the drug war. Condominiums, cigarette boats, sailboats, Mutiny hotels, peacocks. You will be seeing and learning some of the most impressive landmarks with special attention to these three topics: Real Estate, Distribution Channels, and Hotel Mutiny. We will be showing some key features from this period such as cigarette boats (if available on the Marines around our pick-up location, skyline view, mansions, and much more while projecting digital pictures of the '80s through the tour so that our customers could see how the city evolved since. This is a unique tour and definitely, one nobody should miss as it allows you to live and breathe epic chapters from the 80s
We will be riding around the different marinas explaining the distributions networks (mainly focused on cigarrete boats) that were highly elaborated, and many people were involved locally and nationally in the consumption of the imported product.

We will be riding along the bay showing some of the key mansions in the area. Drug lords had significant difficulties storing all the money they made, as a result of which they set up investments in different areas buying entire neighborhoods of houses, putting money into infrastructure as well as investing in side projects such as racehorses. Coral Gables, Coconut Grove,…there were many districts used to buy entire neighborhoods of houses with money being buried in backyards and underground storages.

From there we will be heading towards Miami Skyline. Cocaine, money, and real estate. This was the holy trinity that Miami high-rollers worshipped from the late 1970s to the early 1990s.The nexus between drug trafficking, money laundering, and real estate is one of the overarching themes of this period and you will be hearing about it while seeing digital pictures onboard your boat of how Miami was structured in the 80’s vs today’s landscape.

On the way back you will be hearing about the Hotel Mutiny, a boutique destination in 1970s-80s Miami with an exclusive, members-only club that was frequented by so many real-life Tony Montanas during its cocaine-dusted heyday. The quintessence of Miami’s industrial-scale narcotic hedonism was a hotel on Sailboat Bay, Coconut Grove.
