Its expensive to spend a night in Denver so why not enjoy some time in the Rockies hiking and camping? We will pick the hikes and camping locations based on what the group is interested in, the time of year and day of the week. We will try to chose a nice area that isn't too heavily trafficked. We usually chose to go to some lakes that are super pretty or have some other nice views. We have bear spray and we will have the food secure to ensure everyone is safe. We have all the camping gear you will need. The bbq or dinner will be a blast as well. Where we camp and hike depends on the time of year. We can go to higher elevations in the summer but in fall and spring its too cold so we go to a lower elevation. On the weekends its very busy so we usually go to a paid camping site to make sure we have a spot.
Crater Lakes Trail, James Peak Wilderness
We will drive an hour and 15 minutes from Denver to where we will begin our hike depending how far the group wants to go. We will hike 2-3 miles to the beautiful Alpine lake and then back down to where we will set up our tents, make dinner and a fire if possible. Depending on the time of year and what weekday it is we might go for a paid camping spot.

Caribou Ranch Open Space
This is a nice 4 mile hike thru an old ranch and mining community. The buildings are still intact and the views are breathtaking. There was once a railway that went thru here that was once considered the Switzerland of America.
