Near Congo Square is where Marie Laveau, the famed Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, lived. Her original house is gone, but this was built on the same foundation. Voodoo Queens were a major figure in Louisiana Voodoo, which is actually a unique religion different from Haitian voodoo, or other forms of Voodoo.
