What's better than a morning hike with pastries? The Mount Falcon Park West Trailhead is the perfect place for an outing with friends, and family, or on a solo vacation. You'll get views of the mountains and Red Rocks, walk up to historic sights that include the ruins of John Brisben Walker's castle, and see the cornerstone of a would-be summer White House for U.S. Presidents. Rocky Mountain Hiking Company is owned and led by Carly Moree, the first woman to attempt the men's 3-day unsupported record on the 223-mile John Muir Trail/Nuumu Poyo. She is the co-author of the popular thru-hiking book Pacific Crest Trials and has hiked and run thousands of miles on trails, including running across the Grand Canyon and back in one day, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (1.5 times) and hiking the Appalachian Trail and the Tahoe Rim Trail.
We'll hike anywhere from 3 to 5 miles and eat pastries! What better way to start the day – all at 7,800 feet! Depending on how far we go, you'll get views of Red Rocks, see a historic summer cabin, ruins from a mansion, and go up a fire tower.
