I have been grilling and BBQing for over 20 years, and have trained abroad in France, Spain, Argentina, Thailand, South Korea and other countries. As a native of the American South, I combine my culinary roots with eclectic and diverse flavor profiles. The result is a completely unique approach to grilling, based on science that marries traditionally Southern recipes and techniques with exciting ethnic-inspired flavors. With over 350 classes delivered and a perfect 5 out of 5 stars rating, I know you will leave my kitchen as a better griller and overall cook! Let's get grilling y'all! We will be cooking and eating some of the best grilled food of your life! We'll begin by learning about preparation methods for various proteins (brining, dry rub, marinating) to ensure juicy, flavorful results. Then we'll prepare sauces with your proteins to further enhance their flavor. And to close out the evening, we'll make the entire meal on the grill for you to enjoy!
The class focuses on the science and the "why" behind grilling techniques. You'll learn my "Golden Eight" rules for perfectly grilled proteins, and tips for searing and smoking like a pro!
While the weather in Portland can be unpredictable, our grilling patio is completely covered and we have outdoor heaters if the grill isn't keeping us warm enough! We will hold the class regardless of weather.

We love hosting, but a minimum of 2 guests is required to host the class. Solo travelers- please feel free to join existing classes, or book as a solo traveler and I will let you know if/when other guests join. Guests will need to cancel their reservation if no other travelers join.
