Driving through Koolau Ranch, your first stop will be at the Valley of Temples. Built in 1968, Byodo-In Temple was made without nails and landscaped the Japanese garden complex with extreme attention to its details. It has been featured in the TV series Hawaii Hive-O, Magnum P.I., Lost and the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor.

Standing in Kualoa Regional Park on Windaward Coast, you will experience a basalt islet in Kaneoha Bay with a shape of Chinaman’s Hat on one side, and magnificent mountains on the other. According to Hawaiian mythology, the island is formed from the remains of giant lizard or dragon’s tail that was chopped off and tossed to the ocean.
