Get below the rim on a day-long hiking tour of the Grand Canyon from Sedona, and discover the soaring formations and breathtaking landscape of America’s most iconic National Park. Follow your naturalist guide along a 3- to 5-mile (5- to 8-km) path and learn to read the geological story told in the layers of ancient rock. Return to the surface to visit the most iconic viewpoints along the South Rim of the canyon, pause for a complimentary lunch, then visit more scenic overlooks before returning to Sedona.
Tour and Hike – The Grand Canyon Hike starts with pick-ups in Sedona and *Flagstaff. After a beautiful drive through Oak Creek Canyon and the San Francisco Volcanic Field, we begin our hike at one of the best trails on the south rim. The Grand Canyon offers stupendous views from the edge, but to really appreciate ts vastness, one must venture below the rim.
Complimentary lunch, snacks and drinks are included on your tour. Depending on the group abilities and desires, you will go for a 3-5 mile hike into the depths of the Grand Canyon on one of the spectacular trails that allow you to really experience the Grand Canyon with all senses engaged.
To make sure you are prepared for the hike, please follow these guidelines:
1. You must be able to hike a minimum of three miles
2. You must be able to carry a minimum of 2 quarts of water
3. You must be able to hike a 1000 foot elevation change
4. You must be prepared for temperature extremes
