With its awesome gravity-defying rock formations spanning millennia and mountain towns that paint a picture of early pioneer days, it’s easy to understand why the area of Manitou Springs is a must-visit destination. Our six-hour driving tour to these Colorado gems starts and ends at Denver’s Union Station, with a 90-minute drive with sweeping views on either side of the highway. We’ll start with a Garden of the Gods tour, where ancient rock formations tilt at 90-degree angles and tell the story of the area’s geological past. You’ll wind along the even paths to the park’s most amazing formations, keeping an eye out for wildlife like bighorn sheep, mule deer, or even elks! Afterwards, you’ll be chauffeured to the nearby historic mining and spa town, Manitou Springs to explore, eat, shop for travel trinkets, and take some spectacular photos. After a day of exploring nature, learning some history, and enjoying the local cuisine, you’ll be ready for a relaxing drive back to Denver.
You’ll begin your guided tour at Denver Union Station. This gorgeously renovated train station takes you back in time to the golden age of the railroad, emphasizing its importance in building the capitol of Colorado we know today. Your guide will meet you outside the station for your excursion out of Denver.
