Standing proudly in front of the Moody Theater, Willie’s statue is an iconic representation of why Austin is known as the “Live Music Capital of America”. In addition to the statue, there is a cast bronze map at this intersection which shows detail of “old Austin” and the surrounding bodies of water. The home of great American author, William Sydney Porter, aka O’ Henry, is located near the heart of downtown and is a brief stop to acknowledge O’ Henry’s story and his life here in Austin back in the 1880s.
