Fish the Louisiana marsh from a stand up paddle board in the Redfish capital of the world – Delacroix Island. Redfish can be targeted on fly (my favorite) as well as conventional spinning gear. The marshes of South Louisiana host Redfish year round and are truly a one of a kind fishery. There is a reason our license plates are emblazoned with the motto "Sportsman's Paradise". We will be sight fishing Redfish from heavy duty, very stable stand up paddle boards. This platform allows for silently stalking fish in shallow water where they are tailing and may even have their backs out of the water. Don't be concerned about the "stand up" part. You can paddle from a seated position as well, but a certain degree of fitness and coordination is required as this is a physical activity. I will be by your side throughout your fishing adventure helping you spot fish, providing advice, carrying along the gear, food, extra water, etc on my board. Think of me as your fishing caddy.
The South Louisiana marsh is a truly unique place. Just an hour outside of New Orleans you can enjoy world class fishing, a great diversity of birds (Pelicans, Egrets, Herons, Roseate Spoonbill, Ibis, Ducks, Osprey, Hawks and Frigate Birds to name a few) as well as Alligators, Otters, Nutria and Mink. I have even seen a few wild boar!
I am happiest when I am out fishing in the marsh and I would like to share this experience of nature with you.
