Going from San Francisco with your own companion(s) up to 6 persons for a private custom chauffeured trip to Big Sur on a late model luxury SUV makes it possible to spend time as you want at places you visit and convenient meal or rest stops. There's no need to stress about the routes to take or how long it will take to find parking or a rest stop. These trips do not take place in a huge vehicle with a large number of passengers and scheduled stops. It's just you, your family, or your friends. The driver/guide can make stops at your leisure. A) Round trip returns you to San Francisco. B) One way drops you off at your hotel etc. in the Monterey area for flying out of Monterey or taking the train further south to Los Angeles the following day.
Start with pick up from your hotel / residence. Drive south about an hour, By Belmont turn west across Crystal Springs Reservoirs to the Pacific Coast at Half Moon Bay. Along the scenic sandy beaches pass Pigeon Point Lighthouse to Ano Nuevo State Reserve to Sana Cruz.

Through Santa Cruz continue driving through coastal villages Soquel, Capitola and Aptos to Moss Landing and Castroville. See miles of artichoke and strawberry fields stopping for a light snack somewhere on the road.

Along the Monterey Bay drive through Fort Ord, Marina and Seaside to Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row. Next to Pacific Grove then Highway One south towards The Big Sur.

Going south past Point Lobos and Garrapata picture stop at Rocky Point, continue to Bixby Bridge then past Hurricane Point and Point Sur Lighthouse. Past River Inn continue to Nepenthe.

This iconic single span concrete bridge built in the 19402 appears in many films and TV shows. Stop at north end to take pictures of the bridge and the ocean. About 30 minutes.

Walk in spend about an hour in the Redwoods, Nepenthe / Phoenix / Café Kevah refreshment stop, gazing at The Pacific Ocean..
Most people make this the last stop before returning north.
Henry Miller Library is further south, you may enjoy a visit.
McWay Falls – you need good shoes and about an hour. This is the southernmost point for the trip, about 37 miles south of Carmel. Parking fee to be paid direct

Coming north on inland Highway 101 through Prunedale, Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Jose we go through Santa Clara, Palo Alto past S F Airport to San Francisco. The drive back will take about 3 hours.
