The Moody Theater



Our tour will begin outside the Moody Theater, home of Austin City Limits, where we will talk about the history of Austin’s music scene. From there we will walk downtown past some of the famous and infamous music venues that have made Austin the Music Capital of the World.

Congress Avenue



We’ll stroll done Congress Avenue as we head over to Austin’s music venues and go over some of the history of the city and how music turned a once seedy, red-light district into a vibrant business, hotel, and shopping corridor.

6th Street



Take a stroll down Austin’s famous bar district! This is where a lot of musicians play nightly in the bars and venues that make up what has been known as “Dirty 6th.” You’ll hear how live music has changed the bar district over the last few decades and with the additions of SXSW and other festivals has grown it into the “Music Capital of the World.”

Stubb’s Bar-B-Q



We’ll end our tour at one of Austin’s most famous music venues as well as a historic spot known for its BBQ! You’ll also learn about Austin’s Red River Cultural District and how some big name artists made their mark on the music scene playing here.
