Pinnacles Overlook is one of the best locations in the Badlands. From this stunning viewpoint, you can gaze out at the breathtaking landscape of layered rock formations and jagged spires that stretch out as far as the eye can see.

The view is especially mesmerizing during sunrise or sunset, when the colors of the rocks transform into a vivid display of pinks, oranges, and purples. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some of the park’s resident wildlife, such as bison or bighorn sheep.

Bigfoot Pass is named after Chief Bigfoot (Spotted Elk) and is near the location Chief Spotted Elk led his tribe of mostly women and children to Wounded Knee Creek where many Native Americans met their end, unarmed, by the U.S. Army.
