Discover the beauty of Utah’s backcountry during a small-group horseback riding experience. After a short riding lesson and safety instruction, set out on a guided ride to the top of Twin Knoll. Check out views of Zion National Park, the Elkheart Mountains, and the Kaibab Mountain range during the loop. Stop at several scenic overlooks throughout the tour.
Please note, there is a weight limit of 220lbs per rider for this activity.
For this ride, we will meet in Kanab for introductions, then get on our way to the stables! The drive to the stables is about 20 minutes through beautiful and historic Johnson Canyon, where you will see many idyllic country homes and fields with grazing animals and sandstone cliffs. At the corral, we will saddle up and conduct a brief riding lesson, before departing into the beautiful backcountry of Southern Utah on horseback. As you wind through the hills, brush, and trees, your experienced wrangler will share information about the local demographic and geographic history. You will get to ride along the sandstone cliffs as you take in the beautiful views of the mountains and canyons surrounding Kanab. As the ride comes to an end, we will make the drive back to the meeting point before parting ways.
In fall and winter months, be prepared for cold weather! Make sure you bring hats, gloves, coats, etc. to keep you warm while you enjoy the tour. Please note that the 2 hour timing includes drive time to and from the stables. You will spend about 1.5 hours on the horse.
