Overview

Embark on a thrilling journey down one of the most haunted roads in the world, Archer Avenue. A mere stone's throw from Chicago, this historic Indian trail cuts through the industrial heartlands of Bedford Park and Summit, and winds down to the lush, verdant expanses of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. Haunted by ghost lights and vanishing hitchhikers, Archer Avenue is steeped in stories of sorrow and tragedy. It's a road marked by the tears of laborers, victims of ghastly crimes, and countless mourners who have carried their loved ones to their final resting places in the seven cemeteries that border it. Constructed by Irish workers on the Illinois and Michigan Canal in the 1830s and '40s, Archer Avenue has become the epicenter of Chicago's supernatural forces. Join our ghost tour and uncover the chilling secrets of this haunted highway.

Visit the historic and eerie Archer Woods Cemetery in Hickory Hills, Illinois, known for its chaotic arrangement of graves and unsettling atmosphere. The cemetery has also been a site of controversy, previously used more as a “dumping ground” than a burial ground due to questionable practices. While exploring the grounds, many visitors report feelings of unease, sightings of strange lights, and even hearing whispers or organ music. The cemetery is also linked to local ghost stories, such as sightings of the ‘Weeping Woman’ and phantom horse riders. For those interested in the supernatural or local history, a visit to Archer Woods Cemetery promises an unforgettable experience.
