Overview

Here is a chance to enjoy a guided tour of the once thriving Jewish neighborhoods of 20th century Philadelphia. You will come with your own vehicle, and Dr. Schatz will explain and guide you through the itinerary of your choice in the neighborhoods of our parents and grandparents. We will see (and enter) some former synagogues (even some current ones), and see the shopping districts, cultural amenities, educational and social service buildings that thrived in Jewish Philadelphia of the past.

What To Expect

We will drive through this neighborhood that once buzzed with Jewish life in the first half of the twentieth century. We may be able to enter one former synagogue and will see the outside of half a dozen.
