This two day tour provides a comprehensive look at what makes Yellowstone so unique, how it's ecosystem is unlike any other in the world, and how this natural marvel was formed through millennia of volcanism, glaciation, and tectonic activity. We'll also explore the human history of the park, including it's founding and the history indigenous Americans in the Yellowstone area.
Firehole Canyon Drive
Firehole Canyon is an incredible drive through a canyon carved out of volcanic rock by the Firehole River. We’ll talk about the history of volcanism in Yellowstone and the formation of this awe inspiring gem of Yellowstone.

Firehole Lake Drive
Firehole Lake Drive is an excellent place to see an incredible variety of hydrothermal features, including hot springs and geysers.

Grand Prismatic Spring
The Grand Prismatic is the largest hot spring in Yellowstone and a must see for any trip into the park.

Old Faithful
The most famous geyser in Yellowstone, Old Faithful is well known for it’s consistently timed eruptions. We’ll spend a good amount of time here in the Upper Geyser Basin, home to a wide variety of other hot springs and geysers.

West Thumb Geyser Basin
West Thumb is a hydrothermally active bay carved into Yellowstone Lake by a volcanic eruption roughly 150,000 years ago. Here you can find hot springs pouring into the lake and even find underwater hydrothermal features.

Hayden Valley
The Yellowstone River cuts through Hayden Valley and serves as an artery for the area’s incredible concentration and diversity of wildlife. Bison, elk, bears, eagles, otters, and so much more can be found in this incredible valley. We’ll spend plenty of time here searching for wildlife with our binoculars and spotting scope.

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
An absolutely mesmerizing and iconic sight, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is over 20 miles long and over a thousand feet deep. The canyon is the last major stop of the day for this tour, but we’ll make sure to take our time on the way home, keeping an eye out for wildlife and stopping at several smaller attractions along the way.

Norris Geyser Basin
Norris Geyser Basin is the most active hydrothermal area in Yellowstone and home to the tallest geyser in the world: Steamboat Geyser.

Mammoth Hot Springs
Mammoth Hot Springs’ iconic terraces, formed by deposits from the area’s many springs, are a truly wonderful sight to behold and a great place to take scenic photographs.

Here we’ll see an over 50 million year old and remarkably intact petrified giant sequoia.

Lamar Valley
Lamar Valley is the crown jewel of Yellowstone’s ecosystem. The valley is world famous for its incredible concentration of bison and elk, and especially its population of wolves.
