Overview

The Kona Coast is one of Hawaii’s most popular destinations for snorkeling, known for its magnificent coral reefs and diverse marine life. With this tour, escape the crowds of Kealakekua Bay and discover Pawai Bay, a less-known local snorkeling spot, where you can swim amid schools of tropical fish and dramatic lava rock arches.

  • Avoid the crowds at a less-known local snorkeling spot
  • Snorkel in an area known for its tropical fish and lava rocks
  • Shorter boat cruise means maximum time in the water
  • No experience necessary: instruction and equipment provided

What To Expect

Just after boarding, we depart Kona’s harbor, keeping a watchful eye out for Hawaiian spinner dolphins in their natural habitat. Jump in the water to snorkel Kona’s most beautiful local snorkel spot at Pawai, where massive schools of fish, lava rock arches and gorgeous reefs await discovery.

You’ll spend less time on the boat and more time in the water. Plus, it’s likely you’ll have the whole area to yourself. Kealakekua Bay can get crowded so why not spend the time exploring some of Kona’s local reefs.
