Overview

Explore the city's unique waterways, nature, and neighborhoods on an e-bike with a local guide who grew up, taught, and has a livelihood in the city. Seattle is a wonderful city to bike, especially when you have the help on the hills with an assist. Each helmet is equipped with an intercom system to communicate during the ride. Bikes are built adults, so participants must be 16 or older.

  • Take in the mountain and water views at Sunset Hill Park
  • Discover the unique feel of Ballard and Wallingford, two popular neighborhoods
  • Get up close to the fishing boats of Fisherman’s Terminal
  • Frolic like a local at Gasworks Park

What To Expect

Expand All

Sunset Hill Park

This is a view spot of the water and mountains. On a clear day you can see the Olympic Mountains, West Point Lighthouse and the ferries crossing the Sound. You can hear the seals barking and watch the cargo and tugboats float by. I tell you all I know about Seattle in 10 minutes and highlight the some of the most charismatic creatures that inhabit our waterways.

Ballard

The Ballard Locks are Seattle’s 3rd most popular attraction. We walk the bikes through the Carl English Botanical Gardens before seeing the boats pass through the locks. The locks opened in 1917 and connects salt water to the fresh water of Lake Washington. It’s the busiest lock in the United States and also popular with migrating salmon and the seals, sea lions, eagles, and osprey who come for an easy meal. There’s a fish ladder with an underwater viewing gallery.

Fishermen’s Terminal

Seattle ‘s roots are in the fishing industry and the Fishermen’s Terminal is the place to see real live fishermen and fisherwomen, and the Alaskan fishing fleet. 50% of all seafood sold in the United States is associated with this marina. We can ride the electric bikes all the way down the docks and get right up to the boats. I’ll tell you how salmon fishing operates and why the Alaskan fishermen spend the off-season in Seattle rather than just stay in Alaska.

Wallingford Center

Not the Center but Gasworks Park in the Wallingford neighborhood. Favorite place to take pictures and on the 4th of July watch the fireworks. It was a gasification plant, the old machines are still there. There a great view of the city, the Space Needle and I’ll point out the Sleepless in Seattle houseboat.
