Our historic adventure starts at the White Horse Tavern, the oldest operating restaurant in the U.S. and is acknowledged as the 10th oldest in the world. You’ll hear about it’s beginning, times of pirates and how it played a role in the Revolutionary war.

First, get one thing straight. They were NOT called the Quakers. They were formally known as the Religious Society of Friends. And this is where they gathered, and help to build Newport. Learn about Newports story and Rhode Island’s role in religious freedom, the house was built in 1699.

The tour stops outside the old house and tells the tale of tax collectors and the revolution.
