Mesquite



Pass through the gaming community of Mesquite, NV adjacent to the Arizona state line and 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, with a population of 20,471. Mesquite is located on the Virgin River and is home to a growing retirement community and several casino resorts and golf courses. The community was settled by Mormon pioneers in 1880 and was called Mesquite Flat. It was named for the mesquite timber near the original town site.

At your visit to Zion National Park, you will view the stunning scenery, the spectacular network of colorful canyons, forested mesas and fascinating deserts, sandstone cliffs that are among the highest in the world, the diverse plant and animal communities as well as Ancestral Puebloan, Paiute and Mormon pioneer history. These national parks will overwhelm you with sheer cliffs, stunning colors and amazing natural architecture.

Please Note: Between mid-May and mid-October, you get approximately 2.5 hours to visit Zion National Park. Between mid-October and mid-May, only Zion National Park is visited and you will have approximately 5-hours here.
