Paddle through mangrove tunnels, spot dolphins and manatees, and enjoy free time for a swim or shell collecting on Shell Key Island with this unique Shell Key Preserve kayak excursion led by a local insider. Set off through the shallow saltwater to discover the top kayaking spots with native Floridian and marvel at the area’s natural beauty and marine wildlife, plus learn about its history and ecosystem along the way.
Tours take place in Shell Key Preserve. As a native Floridian, I will guide you through the backcountry of the preserve. Through shallow grassy meadows we go, watching fish jump and birds hunt; all the while, ducking through the mangrove tunnels (tide permitting) and allowing time for pictures and explanations of the surrounding habitat. Most of the area we paddle in is typically only frequented by locals and is off-limits to motorized vessels.
