Seize the rare opportunity to climb some of the tallest trees in the world on this canopy tree-climbing adventure at Deception Pass State Park. This 4-hour, small-group outing offers the unique perspective of a monkey or bird, swinging through the open air, catching branches and climbing to breathtaking views. All necessary safety equipment is included.
We climb as a group on multiple trees, between 100 and 200 feet high on a mix of rare old-growth trees and 2nd growth trees. Depending on the group and the climbers' ability, you will ascend one to 4 trees. Climbing 20 stories up in Coastal Douglas Fir Trees offers a shocking perspective and views few have ever seen. Spectacular views of mountains, wildlife, and ocean await you at the tope of the canopy.
No experience necessary must be 8 years or older.
Learn how to climb up really big trees with ascenders until you reach the branches. Then you can branch climb to the top of the canopy! The ascender technique is similar to doing a squats.
Wear athletic clothes, long pants that cover ankles, and athletic shoes. It is a good idea to also wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged. All other equipment will be provided. The tree canopy climbing experience is a progression. You will start first by receiving all of your equipment, followed by safety talks, learning about the equipment, learning how to use the equipment, and then you will start climbing! We keep it simple and easy to make sure you are having fun, learning and especially staying safe.
