Explore the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains, and hike to an alpine lake, with this guided hike with a small group of no more than six people. With a knowledgeable local guide in the lead, you don’t have to worry about route finding or getting lost, and can enjoy the scenery and experience. Lunch and bottled water provided.
This is a great way to see the Rockies and get away from the city. In the summer its great to escape the heat of Denver and get to the mountains which are usually in the 60's and 70's. If its close to winter we can supply snow shoes and or micro spikes.
It depends on the season but there are a few options. We generally go an hour away to hike 4 miles round trip up to an alpine lake which takes about 3 hours and has great views and cascading waterfalls in summer.
Another option that we are doing more is to go 35 minutes away to hike 3.5 miles on an easier hike that passes by a bison reserve and also has great views. The only thing dividing us from these magnificent beasts is a fence.
Another area we normally go to is to an old mining area that was once considered the Switzerland of America and many travelers came by train to this area about an hour from Denver. This hike is 4.5 miles and not too difficult and has great scenery too.
Since our tours are small and flexible we can decide where to go that day based on the weather and how ambitious the group is feeling.
