This refuge boasts 14 endangered species, and over 3,000 species of other plants and animals. This raised observation deck gives you an elevated view of manatees in the Haulover canal. You can also see dolphins and many birds from this deck.

This 7 mile drive gives you a beautiful view of multiple habitats on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. This is a hotspot for migratory birds during the winter and many other animals like alligators, small mammals, native birds, armadillos, and fish throughout the year. Sunrise and Sunset on this drive are breath taking! There are several areas to get out of the car and walk to bird blinds and other amazing view points for incredibly unique photo opportunities.

We will make several stops throughout the refuge like the visitor’s center that has a 1/4 mile boardwalk, Biolab Road that runs along the mosquito lagoon for 7 miles. By request, you can also request that we visit some of our many walking trails where scrub jays, eagles, and other nesting birds can be observed.
