While the land was originally owned by private owners, it was purchased in 1984 and developed in to a city park by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and the City of Los Angeles. It features several well loved trails of varying difficulty. The park features several beautiful sight-seeing points including Indian Rock, the tallest point in the park.
