Overview

The Snake River is an ideal location to see some of Wyoming’s beautiful flora and fauna—especially bald eagles, ospreys, and pelicans—near Grand Teton National Park. Rather than rush down the river on a whitewater or kayaking trip, float down a scenic 13-mile (21 kilometers) stretch of the river on an easygoing raft. Plus, get round-trip transportation from the outfitter's office in Jackson.

  • Travel 13 miles (21 kilometers) down a scenic part of the Snake River
  • Fit a morning or afternoon departure into your schedule
  • Binoculars to better spot wildlife along the river
  • Round-trip transportation from Jackson

Snake River

Our 13-Mile Scenic Float Trip is the best value in a scenic float trip in Jackson Hole. The bald eagle is king on this stretch of the river, among the finest habitats for our nation’s symbol in the lower 48 states. Osprey and Pelicans compete for the native cutthroat trout as well, and moose, deer, and elk occasionally appear to take a drink or escape the summer heat. Children as young as 3 are welcome. You’ll enjoy the warm summer afternoon or cool morning in the beautiful surroundings of the Snake River. This 13 mile stretch of river is shallow and calm perfect for those age 3 and up. Round trip is from 3-3.5 hours with approximately 2 hours spent on the river. Private Rafts Available.

  • WHAT TO WEAR:
  • For scenic floats, you should dress according to the weather. Keep in mind that the weather changes quickly at mountain elevations, and layering your clothing will enhance your comfort.
