We will visit one of Treme’s cultural museums and witness the New Orleans Black Mardi traditions. The travelers will learn about the heritage and the stories of the Black Mardi Gras Indians.

The travelers will visit the sacred grounds of Congo Square where the indigenous, enslaved, and free people of color would gather on a Sunday to participate in the market. The market consisted of drumming, dancing, singing, selling goods, and more… Join us and hear the stories of the spirits that protected these sacred grounds.
